Megan and Mishi: Engagement Photos in Kansas City

So. I’m a true believer in destiny. And choice. But you already knew that! Maybe I’m a hopeless romantic -but a PRACTICAL hopeless romantic. It amazes me that out of the 6,803,400,000 people in the world, two individuals can discover one another and somehow become more than just a face in the crowd.

Megan and Mishi’s story is movie worthy! Like, it should be a Valentines Day blockbuster! I’m serious! Let me explain.

Jazz, ballet, Pointe… Dance was her passion. Megan followed her dreams of becoming a professional dancer which led her to perform in one of my favorite musicals, “White Christmas” , just outside of Chicago. The stage was set for the perfect love story to begin! (See!? Doesn’t that sound like a movie just waiting to happen? Whatever. I would watch it!) This is where she met the equally talented Mishi. A singer, dancer and musical theater actor! Ugh, does it get any more adorable than that? Well, actually the answer is YES. Yes, it does.

Somewhere between and during hectic practice schedules, costume changes and all the other glamorous things cool people like Megan and Mishi do, they became more than just friends. And as time went on, so did the phone calls, texts, and emails. Their jobs took them all over the country and after being in a long distance relationship for over a year, they decided enough was enough. They were meant to be TOGETHER.

As destiny would have it, they moved to New York together! But not for long. Megan was offered a fabulous job from Disney in LA! Which is where Mishi’s family owns a Hungarian bakery! Before they knew it, they were starting a new chapter of life and love in the City of Angels. Mishi proposed to Megan and I have to say, I’m so glad they found me!

Megan grew up in Kansas and that is where the wedding will take place this fall. I’m so honored to have met and know Megan and Mishi! There cannot possibly be any two people who are so carefree, happy, content and in love as they are. Mishi is so laid back and very disarming. I felt like we were old friends having a reunion when they flew in for their engagement session in Kansas City.

Leaving behind the balmy breezes of California, they were greeted by below-freezing temps and heaps of snow! Hello Kansas City! We walked around the Plaza and really had a lot of fun… even though it was actually pretty miserable weather!

Meet Megan and Mishi –Two of the most happy, genuine, in-love and FABULOUS people I’ve ever met!

The temperatures were in the teens, but their hottness makes up for that ;)
Seriously, the two are so down-to-earth and just HAPPY. Love their smiles!
As we were taking photos, a man passing by was really lost. Mishi noticed him and helped him map out where he needed to go! What a guy! I had to take a photo... because I'm kind of behind-the-scenes-y and cool like that.
LOVE.
Could these two be any more adorable? I love them!
Megan gets tons of compliments on her boots while in LA. We're like, "Please people, have you never seen cowboy boots before?!" Who knew that us Mid-Westerners could be so trendy, right? *rolling my eyes a little!* I love her boots!
AHH! So much LOVE.
We had so many laughs! But I guess it was either that or CRY because it was so cold! Megan, you are fabulous darling!
We headed inside Topsey's Popcorn ( http://www.topsyspopcorn.com/ ) to thaw out it turned out to be so ridiculously cute in there! In all the years I lived here, I had never actually gone INSIDE this little shop. I highly recommend it if you're a fan of old-fashioned treats and popcorn. YUM.
Cute!
After eating popcorn and chocolate covered cherries (Yes, I just said chocolate covered cherries. Be jealous) we headed back out into the blizzard of doom that is KC this time of year! But Megan and Mishi were all smiles and we seriously had such a great time! I just happend to turn around and snap this shot of them as we were walking. I love it!
After a quick outfit change, we headed across the street for more hotness. Mishi loves Megan. A lot, a lot, a lot!
Sigh. Lurv.
Fierce.
You guys!!! I loved how playful and FUN you were at our session! So great.
Mishi was in Singing in the Rain... A highlight of the performace was when he hung on to the lamp post and stood at the base of it. We recreated our own version! Singing in the snow... and Kissing Megan! Which, if you ask me, looks like much more fun than singing in the rain! ;)
Hotttt. With extra "t's". Seriously, you look so pretty!
Eyes! You've got good ones, girl!
Gorgeous. Are they not the cutest couple ever?! Megan and Mishi, your openness and trust is absolutely heartwarming. Thank you so much for making me feel like a friend and for sharing so much about your life with me! You are both beautiful people inside and out and I'm so honored and lucky to be your photographer! Thanks a million for being so amazing! HUGS!!!!
