Amy and Justin's Perfect Day: Wedding Photography In Topeka, KS

Today is the first day of spring.

Please notice the lack of exclamatory-ness of that sentence. Why? Because. Because I live in Missouri. And while most of North America is enjoying the sunshine and clear skies, I sit here at my desk, facing a window, and watch the 3 inches of snow turn into more and more muchness of snow as it continues to pour down from the sky.

While I could be grumpy about it (after all, I was planning on doing some swim suit shopping today! Who wants to do that while it’s snowing outside? It just doesn’t work like that.) I’m instead happy. Happy because I have something wonderful and fabulous to share with you that will make even the coldest day warm up.

It’s hard to be annoyed or gloomy when you’re looking at photos of two people who are so content and happy and so giving of themselves to one another. Two people who demand nothing from one another, but give everything. Two people who live to love the other. Well, they’re also totally adorable too! Let me introduce to you, Amy and Justin.

Amy and Justin met through mutual friends while attending Washburn University. Justin is the kind of guy who has a plan. Yes, he is the man with the plan –down to the very last detail! So of course, he had to wait for the perfect moment to impress this Amy who he’d heard so much about.

It was after a party at a friends house. Justin just so HAPPENED to have ridden his motorcycle to the party. As everyone was leaving, he invited Amy to hop on and go for a ride! Amy couldn’t resist (Justin OR the motorcycle ride!). He “accidentally” popped a wheelie and Amy knew this would be the first of many adventures with Justin!

It was so amazing to watch two families come together on Saturday, March 13, to celebrate Justin and Amy’s Perfect Day! Seeing the realization of all the plans, hopes, dreams and prayers of two people amounts to more than words can say. And that is why I take pictures ☺

Amy and Justin, thank you both so much for welcoming me into your lives! Your relationship and love for one another is absolutely inspiring... If your marriage is anything like the wedding, I know it will be full of love and adventure! Your families were equally as amazing and I can't thank everyone enough for making me feel as though I was one of them! HUGS ALL AROUND!!!

Amy and the bridesmaids got ready at her appartment! AMY. YOU ARE GORGEOUS!
We all learned how to put the veil in in case it came out! Love all the expressions in the room! Larissa got this overhead shot...
Amy, her mom and all the girls arrived at the church to put on the dress. The calmness started to turn to excitement and tearful laughs and hugs as Amy prepared to see Justin for the first time!
Amy, you are seriously such a beautiful bride! I didn't retouch this photo at all! Justin, being the man with a plan!, found all these perfect spots with great light for us to take photos at! Go Justin! Bonus points for being so fabulous like that!
GORGEOUS! I love how the wind just happen to pick up the layers of her dress a little bit in this shot.
Justin looking very handsome on his wedding day!

Seriously, Justin loves Amy a whole lot. He notices all the little details and takes care of her. These two are pretty much amazing!

ALL THE GORGEOUS LADIES!!! These girls were seriously such a blast! It was so cold outside but their hottttness made up for that ;)
Walking down the street... I love Justin's expression and how he's holding Amy's train!
Justin found this staircase earlier and thought it would be cool to get a few quick shots on it. I agree!!!
I *heart* you guys. Beautiful couple, inside and out.

We headed out to a nearby park and found this old red train! These next three shots are so fun!

The reception was held at Grand Overland Station in Topeka! It was perfect!
LOVE! You guys are totally glowing! I couldn't be happier for you both!
Amy and Justin really didn't leave each others side the whole day. Their happiness was absolutly contagious!
Love the cake design...
Larissa went ahead to snap a few snots of the ballroom before all the guests arrived!
The ballroom had a balcony! I loved how the guests could look down on the first dance... Amy's Grandmother looked on adoringly the whole time. What a special memory!
Amy threw the bouquet from the balcony! I LOVE all the expressions on the girls faces! Can you guess which one caught it?
At the end of the night, we snuck away for just a few quick shots in the night. I love the look of this!
Guests lined up down the exit! This was such a fun moment for everyone! I'm so lucky to have been a part of such a special day! Thanks to Larissa and Elle for helping me out and of course to Amy and Justin and their families! This was my first wedding of the year so far. I think 2010 is going to be pretty fabulous!!!!
