A Cinderella-Inspired Photoshoot in Kansas City! - Kansas City Wedding Pros Come Together to Create Something Amazing
What happens when 16 (YES. 16!) of Kansas City Top Wedding Professionals come together to create something amazing? Gold details, candle-lit dinners, beaded gowns, handmade designer menswear, custom linens, luxurious floral arrangements, dramatic uplighting, shimmering gold candelabras, a dusty blue gown by Jim Hjelm.... Inspired? I sure am! Most of this day ended up being dark and rainy. We didn't let that slow us down and opted to play up the candle light and moody atmosphere for this Cinderella Inspired Wedding Photoshoot!
The Wedding Team:
Big Miracle, Little Baby - One Kansas City area family will be celebrating an extra-special Christmas!
In the hustle-bustle craziness of the Holiday Season, many people can get caught up in busy schedules, party planning, shopping sprees, and post office line ups... And even a Duck-Related TV Show debate. This is our societal norm. Well, it doesn't have to be. What if we stopped. Even if just for a second. Maybe just a few minutes. Stop and think about the people you love. Drown out the noise of the advertisements, demands, to-do lists, and even the Christmas music. Now, think about the people you love the most. Hug them a little longer. Listen a little better.
This 3-year-old superstar has her portraits taken recently to celebrate another GLAMOROUS year! Happy Birthday sweet girl!
I love to photograph quickly and give LOTS of praise to my young subjects! Parents are great "assistants" at this too :)
If they are wanting to stand or pose a certain way, never say, "NO"... let them be a part of the decisions and I PROMISE they will reward you for it.
The first 15-20 minutes are crucial! This is when they'll be the most excited about the photos and poses!
They heard about me from an acquaintance, of a friend of a friend of mine! It's a small world! They live in my own town and I LOVE meeting new families and having fun with them! We had a great morning session in the Longview area of Lee's Summit. Here are just a FEW of my favorites! THANKS H FAM!!!
I am so happy for S & D! I photographed their wedding just over three years ago and I'm thrilled that they will soon be (the BEST) parents (in the WORLD) !!
Here are just a few of my favorites from their beautifully sunny session in Lee's Summit, MO!
Welcome to this crazy world, Captain J! May you have many wonderful adventures and never stop dreaming! (though, may your dreams progress from "drinking endless amounts of milk" to things like, "world peace" and "saving the planet" etc.!)
LOVE YOU! You have amazing parents and though you are tiny now, I know you are going to grow up to do HUGE things!
It's a Christmas Miracle! Thanks to Storm Draco, we got a few layers of snow just in time for Bethany, Jordan and Baby E's First Christmas! I have known Bethany since she was practically a baby herself and was flattered when they asked me to take photos of their family! Jordan is a proud member of our nations military and will be leaving for his first tour the day after Christmas. We are all so proud of him and his family and will miss him like CRAZY! I have so much love for this family! Here is a quick preview of just a FEW of my favorites from their photo session!
Every fall, I try to find the BEST locations for the onslaught family of photos I'll be taking (I know. The word "onslaught" is not romantic or pretty, but it thoroughly describes what I know to be the month of October when it comes to portrait sessions!!!). While most people think, "a fountain! a bridge! a creek! the front steps of our house!"... I look for great LIGHT, lots of space to run and play, great color, and plenty of room for options!
I love returning clients. Especially with they return with + ONE MORE to love! You many remember when I photographed Jenny + Mike's wedding in Seaside, FL... ( http://jennysteffens.blogspot.com/2010/11/my-life-our-wedding-seaside-fl... ) Well, I was thrilled when Jenny asked me to document their growing family and some quality time for Emma + Sam! COUSINS! How perfect!
Here are just a FEW of my favorites from a super fun *and super early* morning photo session I had with this AWESOME family! I love when families can come together and just HAVE FUN at their sessions. We did, even though getting a couple of these guys out of bed involved bribes with chocolate waffles and lots of coffee! I am so grateful for families like this. Families that aren't afraid to show each oher their REAL feelings.
