I had such a fantastic evening with Markie and Grant! Markie contacted me this winter completely giddy with excitment not long after the proposal! We met for drinks at Thomas to chat about the details of their dream Kansas City wedding and brainstorm the engagement session! I can't take any credit for the fun ideas they came up with!
Tonight, these two brave souls ventured into the heart of Kansas City in the middle of flurries and freezing temperatures! Traci (who is gorgeous!) had her heart set on wintery photos with the love of her life! Craig and Traci used to live in the heart of downtown and I think a piece of their heart still does! Craig proposed to his beautiful fiance at Liberty Memorial, and naturally, we had to do engagement photos there! If you read my blog, you know this is a fabulous location that is popular with so many brides as it overlooks a city that has stolen so many hearts!
Sometimes all the paths, choices, reasons, and moments all happen at the right time, right place, with the right people. And it leads to love like this.
here are just TWO little sneak peeks from a recent engagement session! These two were up for ANYTHING and I LOVE when my clients love to have fun! Thanks for sticking around after dark to get these awesome shots at Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, MO!
Elena & Domenick: Lawrence, KS Engagement Photography - Kansas City Wedding Photographer Claire Ryser
Domenick proposed to Elena on a quiet Florida beach, at sunset, in the spring of 2013! Between Graduate School at KU, getting engaged, and planning a wedding, these two have been busy, but that hasn't stopped them from having a blast and enjoying every minute of the process!
Here are a few of my favorites from their sweet Lawrence engagement session! We had so much fun, and even got a suprise visit from a little friend that made our photo shoot EXTRA interesting!
This couple is getting married this August! We had such a fun time at their session! Love everything about it! Two of the sweetest people you'll EVER meet! So excited for the wedding this summer! XOXO
First of all, let me just say, Lexie is one of those dream clients that gets EXCITED about her photos. I love her enthusiasm for life, style and photography and am super psyched about how her ideas and efforts helped to create such pretty engagement photos! Add Colin, who adores her, to the picture... and the phrase, "picture perfect" comes to mind. LOVE THESE TWO!!
Melissa and Jared have great chemistry... and a great "how we met" story, and a great "how he proposed" story, and will soon have a great "when we got married" story! Just a couple days ago, the three of us met to take photos of their love, style, personality, how they interact, etc. And I LOVED it. It's not easy work (trust me, Jared carried Melissa all over the forest, we ran across muddy fields, hiked down the street in 3-inch heels -well- Melissa did, anyways!) But I'm PRETTY CERTAIN it was worth it. We'll have to ask Jared to be sure!
Engagement photos are such a great way to have fun out on the town with the love of your life... and get some fabulous shots along the way! All of my wedding collections include the engagement session. This way, we can explore your style and personality and what you LOVE about you and yours! No one ever "feels" photogenic in the first few moments, but I promise, I'll guide you through and everyone ends up having so much fun as the session goes on! Here are a few of my favorite shots from Allison and Rich's engagement session at the Kansas City Plaza and Liberty Memorial!
Ben & Sara are totally in love! Everything about this shoot is so THEM! I have known Sara since middle school, so seeing her so happy and in the arms of the LOVE OF HER LIFE was thrilling and made me smile... a lot.
Sara brought along Ben's letter jacket to show off her future new last name! Ben and Sara also sing, so it was totally necessary for Ben to serenade her - complete with his guitar!
I'm happy to show you some of my favorites from their session! Enjoy :)
